Trophy Halibut Trips in Craig, Alaska
Some anglers come to Alaska for a full freezer. Others come for one fish they'll talk about for the rest of their lives. Our Trophy Halibut trip is built for the second kind. For three days, we fish the outside waters off Prince of Wales Island with one goal: big halibut, 80 pounds and up.

What's included
3 days of guided fishing focused on big halibut, with Captains Aaron, Adam or Ashton
4 nights at our lodge in Craig
All fishing gear and bait
GAF tags available at $600 each, reserved before your trip
Salmon fishing as a bonus once the halibut are in the boat
Halibut first, salmon as the bonus
This is a halibut trip. We spend our time where the big fish live. Once your halibut are caught, we may switch to king or coho salmon as a bonus, depending on time, weather and the season.
Why you need a GAF tag to keep a big halibut
Charter anglers in Southeast Alaska can keep only one halibut a day, and it has to be 34 inches or shorter, or 80 inches or longer. That leaves out most of the big fish people dream about. A halibut in the 80 to 200 lb range is usually somewhere in between.
GAF (Guided Angler Fish) tags fix that. We lease halibut quota from commercial fishermen under a federal NOAA Fisheries program. Each GAF tag lets you keep one extra halibut of any size, on top of your regular daily fish. You can keep up to two GAF fish a day, and you can use them on closed charter days too.
Pricing (3-day trips only)
- 3 days fishing / 4 nights at the lodge: $4,375 per person
- GAF tags: $600 per fish, reserved before your trip. The tag price includes the extra offshore running to chase big fish.
- Regulations allow up to 2 GAF fish per angler per day. Reserve as many tags as you'd like to use.
- Unused tags are refunded or credited toward a future trip.
We secure GAF tags ahead of time and supplies are limited, so book early.
Book 4 anglers on a guided package by 12/31/26 and the 5th fishes free.
